But have you ever wondered how oils and butters are transformed into a silky, fragrant bar of soap?



It all comes down to one incredible process: saponification.

What is Saponification?

Saponification is the scientific name for the chemical reaction that turns natural oils and sodium hydroxide (lye) into soap and glycerin. It’s been practiced for centuries, and it remains the heart of traditional soap making today.



In simple terms:

Oils + Lye = Soap + Glycerin

Why Sodium Hydroxide Is Essential (and Safe!)





While sodium hydroxide (INCI: Sodium Hydroxide) may sound intimidating, it’s an essential part of the saponification process.





💡 Important: When formulated correctly, no sodium hydroxide remains in the final product. It is completely transformed during saponification, leaving behind only pure soap and skin-loving glycerin.





Our Natural, Vegan Oils and Butters





We use only 100% vegan, plant-based oils and butters, each chosen for its unique benefits to the skin. These include:

• Olive Oil – Rich in antioxidants and deeply moisturizing

• Coconut Oil – Cleansing, lather-boosting, and antibacterial

• Shea Butter – Nourishing, vitamin-rich, and ultra-soothing

• Avocado Oil – Packed with skin-replenishing fatty acids and vitamins

• Castor Oil – Adds creaminess and helps create luxurious bubbles

  • Cocoa Butter - Moisturising antioxidant and rich in vitamins

  • Kokum Butter - Hydrating, rich in Vitamins and essential fatty acids





Each oil brings its own fatty acid profile, which influences the soap’s lather, hardness, and conditioning qualities.





Cold Process: A Natural Approach to Luxury

In the cold process method, we:

1. Gently melt our oils and butters

2. Mix a precise, cooled sodium hydroxide solution

3. Blend them together to begin saponification

4. Add natural colorants, botanicals, and pure essential oils

5. Pour into a mould swirl to perfection, and let nature do the rest!

Our soaps are then cured for 4–6 weeks, allowing them to harden naturally and become long-lasting, mild, and moisture-rich.
